Job Description: Performs analyses and prepares forecasts and recommendations in the areas of product preferences, sales coverage, market penetration, market practices and sales trends. Researches market conditions to determine potential sales of a product

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead Demand Review and Executive Demand Review at divisional level as well as participate in Global Business Unit IBP meetings and Executive IBP meetings.
    • Create resources/materials for meeting through demand review pre-meetings and coordination with relevant functions.
    • Review KPIs to proactively identify misalignment between sales, marketing, financial & demand plans and seek consensus through the Executive Demand Review process to recommend appropriate actions plans.
    • Serve as the primary contact for cross-functional business partners from the Division and the Integrated Business Planning team.
  • Responsible for the unconstrained demand forecast based on: historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, financial budgets and inventory levels. 
    • Forecast will be at the item x country level and include unit volume and ASP for the 24-month rolling horizon.
    • Gathers, analyzes and validates demand data, as well as reviews resulting statistical forecast models. 
    • Ensures that demand plans are prepared, reported, and communicated to the Integrated Business Planning team within Global Ops and Division management.
    • Ensures appropriate sponsorship of the plan is generated through the divisional Executive Demand Reviews.
    • Utilize Statistical baseline forecast in Demantra and provide business inputs to forecast modelers to improve the performance of statistical baseline forecast.
    • Maintain high quality demand forecasts in Demantra with value added override and complete demand planning cycle according to Global IBP calendar.
  • Prepare scenario plans to the demand forecast based on varying factors (price, availability, field training, etc)
    • Gain alignment on a single scenario to roll out to the supply team and finance through monthly EDR meetings
  • Coordinate with upstream marketing and BD to hand off forecast (from upstream to DP) of NPD/BD deals 6-12 months prior to launch
    • Lead, evaluate and modify this process as needed
  • Product launch/commercialization plans
    • Detail scenarios based on changing launch dates (more than moving the forecast out by a month, account for how the market has changed)
    • Understand how the new product(s) impact other items in the portfolio and ensure those impacts are communicated and accounted for in the demand plan
  • Product discontinuation plans
    • Understand how discontinuation of product(s) impact other items in the portfolio and ensure those impacts are communicated and accounted for in the demand plan
  • Input to PLCM discussions
    • Signal when sales of an item or family of items is declining past a point of profitability (review of PLCM flow chart)
  • Use data to identify and make recommendations for new business opportunities, sales and portfolio expansion
  • Identify and present on strategies to increase demand
    • Review by customer and/or region
    • Opportunities for cross-/up-selling
  • Prepare dashboards or ad hoc reports for visibility to how the business is trending compared to the forecast
  • Lead and participate in the development, modification and improvement of procedures, policies and processes regarding regional demand planning management (relevant with expanding international business in Canada and Japan)
  • Competitive intelligence
    • Continuous monitoring of competitive news, clearances, pricing trends, wins/losses. Maintain competitive profiles, host quarterly calls with sales and marketing
    • Collaborate with marketing and other stakeholders to understand relevant market-related data and competitive intelligence and define launch strategy and manage product life cycle implications to demand and inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management / Operations or Analytics preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience with data analysis, supply chain or data management preferred.
  • Basic understanding of market analytics, product lifecycle management, supply chain planning, product launches and portfolio optimization.
  • Basic understanding of database management software.
  • Knowledge of Windows computer applications required including MS Excel, Word, and PowerBI.
  • Knowledge of forecasting tools such as Demantra preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Up to 20% travel required annually
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 20%
