The Job's Mission

Based in Moscow the Country Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing sales, marketing and technical service strategies for Russia & Kazakhstan and will also have a dotted line to help guide Customer Services and Operations processes. In this role you will lead a team to achieve yearly quotas and grow the Stryker business in the territory.  This role is responsible for successful business development and market penetration through effective dealer and KOL management and by providing leadership to Stryker Business Development and Marketing teams.

What will you do:

Sales & Marketing

  • Manage multiple services across the organisation directly & indirectly and provide strategic direction and leadership to all Functions so that they consistently meet and exceed performance metrics
  • Ensure strong governance of the Stryker entity in close collaboration with finance and legal teams
  • Oversee technical service, sales and marketing activities as well as streamline sales process, product portfolio optimization & quality services
  • Dealer network management will be a key element of this role including setting up an effective process to nurture relationships with the existing network,  the identification of  potential new dealers and maintaining regular assessment of performance
  • To develop the annual budgets and forecasts in conjunction with the General Manager, Sales, Marketing and Finance & Operations and ensure budgets and expense targets are adhered to accordingly
  • Implementing & controlling compliance initiatives and ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the extended Stryker team in Russia & Kazakhstan when necessary
  • Collaborate closely with local and EEMEA functional leaders to communicate business issues and identify timely solutions
  • Participate in key projects related to operating model and improving business efficiencies
  • Determine products to be sold, and set prices and credit terms, investments based on forecasts of customer demand
  • Implement successful product introductions in the country as defined by the Global and Regional sales and marketing strategy
  • Continually assess all aspects of healthcare developments and national funding (reimbursement) process, determine areas of influence for Stryker and take active steps to assist clinics to secure funding and expand the market
  • Strategically plan professional education through HCP trainings, symposia and conferences in line with budget planning
  • Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with board members, corporate staff and team as necessary.
  • Company Representative at Compliance Committee
  • Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices

Financial Management

  • Assume P&L responsibility and develop the annual budgets and forecasts and ensure budgets and expense targets are adhered to accordingly
  • Coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other KPIs to measure efficiency and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and improvement.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed and act as liaison for audit purposes 

What are we looking for?

  • BA/BS degree in business or related discipline required and an MBA/Business Masters is desirable
  • 10 years relevant experience in Business, Sales/Marketing Leadership role; within a multinational company in the medical/pharmaceutical field.
  • Thorough knowledge of sales/distribution processes and applied selling/commercial skills
  • Must be fluent in both Russian and English
  • This leader needs to be out and about, with high visibility and impact, living and breathing all Stryker’s values to customers and employees alike.
  • Proven experience in delivering market share growth and financial commitments
  • Strong commercial/financial acumen; experience managing a P&L is preferred
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; strong cross-functional influencing skills; plus the ability to relate well to colleagues from varied divisions, markets & cultures.
