Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Develops relationships within relevant areas of responsibility to foster a collaborative approach to proactive compliance.  Obtains basic level of knowledge of current and emerging laws and regulations; may review and suggest updates to standards relating to compliance.  These include, but are not limited to Stryker Corporate Policies and Procedures, industry trends and guidance on country, state/provincial or local laws. Supports the corporate compliance function to ensure that employees and other identified parties utilize established systems, processes and procedures to ensure compliance. May assist with on-going monitoring and auditing of compliance policies, procedures and processes and reporting to compliance leadership with regard to effectiveness. May assist with system or process improvements that increase efficiency, compliance or reduce cost to the business. May assist with recommendations to compliance leadership and implementing recommendations in conjunction with corporate compliance team. Effectively plans and implements a broad variety of tasks related to area of responsibility. Contributes to annual training and communication plan development and implementation. Collaborates successfully with team members, subject matter experts, stakeholders, and others involved in the compliance program to achieve agreed upon outcomes. Develop and present relevant metrics for internal use to track specific compliance program performance and service delivery to identified groups.

Education & Special Trainings

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in business, adult learning, instructional design, marketing, communications, or related field.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years’ experience in a work environment.
  • Excellent visual, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data and effectively present results in a manner that is timely, accurate, and relevant to stakeholders.
  • Motivated self-starter with integrity and the ability to maintain required levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to multi-task in an efficient and organized manner (must be flexible and able to adapt to change) and effectively manage conflicting priorities.
  • Team player with emphasis on quality of work, continuous improvement, and demonstrated attention-to-detail.
  • Commitment to provide exceptional customer service in all interactions.
  • Flexibility to work with different facets of the corporate compliance team.
  • Basic understanding of budgets and expense management.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  Generally, involves sitting most of the time.
  • Must be able to operate common office equipment (e.g. computer, printer, copy machine, calculator, telephone, etc.).
  • Must be able to review printed and handwritten materials.
  • Must be able to communicate telephonically and with large groups of people.
