WHAT YOU WILL DO:

This critical role for Stryker's $2B Endoscopy Division located in San Jose CA , will work closely with the business and business finance leaders to establish, direct, coordinate, and administer a plan for the control of financial operations; provide management with financial analyses for timely and effective decision making; provide data for and/or assist in establishing major economic objectives and policies for the company; and prepare reports that outline the company's financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations. Review, analyze, and interpret all financial and budgetary reports making recommendations to management; direct preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Leads a team of 30+.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages all financial operations functions including  but not limited to accounts receivable,  data analytics, demand planning, accounts payable, sales operations, consolidations, general accounting, financial compliance, and divisional integrated business planning.
  • Plays a leading role  in  company strategic planning process. Coordinates strategic planning financial forecasts and partners with other functional directors to deliver a comprehensive strategic plan, annually. Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of market dynamics by studying competitors, customers, industry trends, and analyst reports from the investment community.
  • Interfaces with Senior leadership throughout the corporation and represents division on critical cross-functional projects.
  • Initiates and leads major initiatives in the division including but not limited to ERP implementations, FP&A technical solutions.
  • Reviews, evaluates and implements accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepares and presents performance measurement reports reflecting service and efficiency levels of financial operations.
  • Prepares and presents financial statements and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
  • Supervises monthly balancing of books and monthly account reviews; prepares and presents monthly financial statements.
  • Directs budget preparation, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification for proposed budgets
  • Coordinates annual independent audit and preparation of annual tax documents.
  • Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress.
  • Ensures compliance with statutory property tax reporting.
  • Monitors receivables to ensure credit risk is mitigated.
  • Directs the analysis of sales territory performance and the implementation of annual sales quotas.
  • Develops, analyzes, and implements incentive compensation programs to increase division’s revenue and profit growth.
  • Develops, analyzes, and implements sales reporting strategies.
  • Oversees divisional demand planning; helps to develop strategies and ensure implementation.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops accounting and finance managers; manages schedules and workflow.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent.
  • Prefer CPA with 2-5 years of Big 4 public accounting experience.
  • 10+ years related experience and/or training (overall).
  • Working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret economic conditions and anticipate the impact on the organization.
  • Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. 
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in major general ledger packages, Excel, Word and Access.
  • Ability to accurately complete detailed financial reports, calculate figures and amounts, and analyze statistical and financial data.
