Job Description

As the Commercial Services Manager reporting into the Director Strategic Capabilities UK you will be responsible for the management and leadership of the Commercial Services function leading a team of 5.  

In this position you will support Stryker franchises with driving cross divisional engagement for selected NHS accounts by developing innovative pricing/commercial models for NHS requirements and by providing the UK business with thought leadership on the ever-changing procurement landscape and Future Operating Model.

You will support the Director Strategic Capabilities with opportunities for managed services and solutions across the NHS and will act as deputy to the Director Strategic Capabilities when required.


UK travel will be required, approximately 40 – 50%, with occasional travel to our regional headquarters in Amsterdam.


Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Tendering and Contracts function for all individual franchise and cross franchise opportunities in accordance with the Stryker Leadership qualities
  • Maintains highest levels of engagement across all teams and supports them with their development.
  • Ensures that all tender responses and framework offerings are managed in accordance with Stryker UK SOP. Development of high quality bid / framework responses.
  • Oversees Contract Monitoring program and oversees consistency in pricing policies across all routes to market.
  • Leads engagement with NHS Trusts for selected Cross franchise opportunities. Engages with senior Trust multi-disciplinary stakeholders (Procurement, Finance, Operations) delivering cross-divisional pricing models.
  • Delivers advice and knowledge to the franchises on all things relating to bidding and contracting within the NHS procurement landscape and Future Operating Model. Is a point of contact with senior Category Tower stakeholders.
  • Supports the Director, Strategic Capabilities with scoping out managed service opportunities within the NHS.
  • Supports franchises with contractual related issues/disputes with positive resolutions and outcomes
  • Strives to continuously improve tools and systems for effective commercial services support to the franchises.
     

What are we looking for?            

  • Good knowledge base on the NHS Procurement landscape and Future Operating Model essential
  • Background in Tender, contract management or similar Commercial/Business Services/finance operations role essential.
  • Strong collaborator and communicator across complex matrix organizations able to build trust and influence senior stakeholders within Stryker.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience in consultative and solution selling into the NHS preferable.
  • Experience in Medical Devices will be an advantage.
  • Strong and proven people management skills
  • Willing to travel across the UK and at short notice
