The Job's Mission

Reporting to the VP and MD, UK and Benenord and working in close collaboration with the Country Divisional and Functional leaders, use their market and local knowledge to develop and implement through facilitation and coordination, the Belgium business strategy specifically related to cross-divisional opportunities in significant and strategic accounts.

Lead the Belgium Commercial Services Team, setting and ensuring delivery of objectives to drive growth and profitability across the whole Stryker Belgium portfolio.

Your key responsibilities

  • Participate as a full member of the of the Country Leadership team and Benelux Regional Leadership Team
  • Drive collaboration between Country Leadership team and all other business stakeholders
  • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with key customers and account stakeholders
  • Maintain the Belgium Stryker entity and generate a sense of belonging for the Belgium Stryker employees,
  • Accountable for leading, strategy implementation and executing a coordinated effort between divisions and enabling functions, to effect a high impact outcome at identified accounts
  • Construct, implement and drive an innovative value proposition/solutions offering across our divisions providing Stryker Belgium with a differentiation advantage
  • Lead, develop and retain a talented Commercial Business Services team.
  • Optimise account wins and sales, supporting our divisions by interacting with key decision makers, guiding and providing business proposals, pricing models, tender preparation and cross functional coordination where appropriate
  • Through the Commercial Services team, ensure the on time and accurate submission of tenders, provision of pricing support, margin management and the active management of contracts.
  • Achieve defined sales targets
  • Support the VP and MD, UK and Nordic region as in-country coordinator on an ad hoc basis as required. Tasks may include:
    • interaction with local authorities and industry associations
    • a signatory for day to day business activities
    • the coordination of leadership meeting agendas
    • the facilitation of events such as audits, townhalls and business leader visits
    • supporting in instances where Belgium representation as an entity is required.

What are we looking for?

  • BSc Life sciences, pharmaceutical or business degree desirable
  • Solid experience as Commercial Director, Sales Leader or Business Development Leader within medical device business with proven career progression.
  • Excellent experience in Key Account Sales Management; required, preferable in the medical device industry; with an excellent understanding of Value Based HealthCare principles in engaging with hospitals
  • Excellent experience in contract & tender management
  • This leader needs to be out and about, with high visibility and impact, living and breathing all Stryker’s values to customers and employees alike.
  • Proven experience in leading a high performing commercial business services/ KAM team
  • Demonstrated success in developing turn key hospital solutions, and engaging with CEO’s and CFO’s of hospitals.
  • Demonstrated ability to build engagement and leverage performance management systems to reach business objectives; includes goal setting, performance planning and monitoring, coaching, feedback and performance review
  • Strong commercial/financial acumen; including demonstrated record of overachieving organizational goals (e.g., developing business models or finance models sales, P&L, engagement)
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; strong cross-functional influencing skills & teamwork.
  • High Ethics. This leader needs to be of impeccable ethics.   High integrity leadership will be essential to the delivery of Stryker’s vision of being the most admired company, and how that will be achieved through impeccable ethics.
  • Execution focus. This is a significant hands-on role, with a clear focus on execution.  This leader must have a proven track record of delivering exceptional results over an extended period.   This leader must be passionate about hitting their numbers, have an incredible understanding of exactly how their business is performing in all key areas, and possess huge internal drive and motivation.  The successful candidate will need to have had considerable experience and success at preparing and executing targeted marketing and sales programmes to win business off the competition and take market share. This is a unique turnaround opportunity.
