Job Description

Basic Function:

  • Maintain the Calibration Database for the Instruments 1941 facility.
  • Support day to day activities within the Calibration system, support new and changing gages.
  • Establish and maintain communication within Stryker and with third party Calibration vendor(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and send out gaging to third party calibration vendors.
  • Properly handle out of tolerance (OOT) gaging; Including gaging disposition and documentation.
  • Originate and update non-conformance records within Trackwise.
  • Maintain the calibration system on a daily basis.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and local documentation and regulatory procedures and policies.
  • Work from verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Create and train to standard and non-standard calibration procedures with engineering partners.
  • Assess compliance of processes and procedures to standards established.
  • Recommend updates when applicable.
  • Lead and or participate in calibration and quality improvement projects.
  • Review and approve gage status update forms (deactivation/location change/interval change/etc).
  • Communication within Stryker and with third party calibration vendors related to timing and status of gaging.
  • Initiate, evaluate, and send out weekly and monthly calibration reports (gage lists/past due list/etc).

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Coordination of eye, hand, and/or foot movement with an ability to grasp by hand and meet cognitive demands to include visual and auditory discrimination/memory, reading ability, and memory retention ability.
  • The ability to work with very small objects, tools, and component parts.

Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to observe and note minute inconsistencies.
  • Must be able to follow and explain detailed instructions and calibration procedures.
  • Must be able to explain detailed documentation accurately.
  • Must be able to communicate calibration deficiencies to supervisory or engineering personnel.
  • Must be able to prioritize work effectively.

Qualifications/Work Experience Preferred:

  • Level of industry knowledge.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with basic handheld gages (height stand, calipers, gage pins, micrometers, etc).
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Eagerness to assist internal and external customers.
  • Possess attention to detail.
  • Manage tasks in a timely manner.
  • experience in a Calibration/Quality function or related technical field.

Education/Special Training Required:

  • High school diploma.
  • Formal technical/Calibration training.
