What You Will Do:

The successful candidate will be part of our Supply Chain team and be located in our Tullagreen facility in Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork. You are expected to contribute to the positive team environment and to the continued high levels of engagement within the team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the development of purchasing and strategic plans.
  • Participate in cross functional projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in purchasing functions.
  • Train and mentor other team members as needed to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Collaborate with supply chain management team to appropriately manage components throughout product life cycle (PLC) and New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Work with Supplier Development and/or Operations Engineering teams in the qualification of product and/or suppliers.
  • Interface with internal resources and external suppliers on management of Approved Supplier Lists, price lists, choices and alternates in order to monitor or reduce product cost or inventory levels.
  • Proactively identify report & escalate constraints within the end-to-end Supply Chain which will impact on Customer Service levels.
  • Identify and challenge safety stock levels, MOQ’s, component leadtimes, etc as part of inventory management.
  • Work directly with suppliers to gain an understanding of their internal planning system and how their processes affect/interact with Stryker’s material and capacity requirements.
  • Review data for accuracy and analyze the information in support of supplier agreements.
  • Contribute to cost reduction program by making viable business recommendations and process improvement ideas.
  • Participate and provide input to supplier score card reviews to achieve agreed upon OTD (on time delivery), cost saving and responsiveness targets.
  • Be the single point of contact for Purchasing for all external suppliers and internal business partners.  Expedite and Prioritize items as necessary.
  • Work cross-functionally with the following teams to support Stryker initiatives:  Sourcing, AO, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations.

What You Need:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint & large ERP platforms (Oracle/SAP).
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication, customer service, analytical and presentation skills. 
  • Demonstrated time management, organizational and detail oriented skills.
  • Demonstrated influence skills.  Must be able to diplomatically persuade others and effectively drive continuous improvement/change.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial concepts, both orally and written, to a broad spectrum of internal users.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and be challenged by a team-based environment which places a high degree of emphasis on accountability for quality/GMP compliance, customer service levels, inventory management and cost reduction.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
