Job Description

Main objective / purpose of the role:

Ensure strategic yet operational approach to the entire Trauma, Spine & CMF franchise for Stryker SA. In collaboration with marketing EEMEA, provide a strategic map of the Medical Technology industry in SA with potential for any strategic or tactical gain for Stryker.  Act externally as the Recon representative for Stryker SA and serve on appropriate industry bodies representing the company. Ensure the achievement of all sales and financial business targets through the appropriate structures.

  • Critical success factors/Key deliverables

Strategic and financial sales forecast plan: Maintain annual strategic plans, gather sales intelligence for tactical decision making.  Ensure accurate sales forecasts for both short and long term.  Analyse revenue growth and monitor profit margins and targets. Manage and budget DII, review budgets and ensure effective financial and sales reporting in collaboration with Finance.

Maintain customer centric solutions: Ensure customer relations and conduct customer surveys to ensure satisfaction and provision of services.  Interact with QA/RA on strategic affairs and corrective action needed. Serve on appropriate Industry Forum i.e. SAMED portfolios pertinent to position.

Collaborate with peers to optimise core business and create sales culture: Collaborate with EEMEA and Stryker counterparts globally, lead with vision and inculcate a “can do” team spirit.  Apply conflict resolution where required, facilitate change and solve problems in the best interest of the company. Create a sales culture through development and coaching, ensure sound performance management processes, staff succession plans and continuously scout for talent.

Manage and oversee the Sales Representatives role in the best fit and alignment with EEMEA strategies and local sales initiatives. Ensure professional effective launching of new/line extension products.

Sustain business ethic, and compliance to regulations: Inclusive of ADVAMEND, EUCOMED and SAMED keeping abreast of all codes and regulations, ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to and uphold the Compliance Culture and Philosophy of the Company within the Device Industry.

Ideal requirements

  • Management or sales industry related degree/diploma/Business degree.

Ideal Experience:

10 Years’ experience in the sales industry and 3-5 years in a management/executive management environment

  • Strong leadership qualities. Ability to move others to take action.
  • Analytical, logical and advanced problem solving skills
  • Must be able to establish strategic relationships and partnerships
  • Must be output driven and must be able to get results through people (Team).
  • Energise and motivate the greater team.
