Job Description

The Business Process Manager represents Joint Replacement and Trauma & Extremities for Process management. Supports the strategy and design to establish a new Process Management framework to enable the Global ERP Program. Provides support for the global process management capability including process architecture, process mapping, BPM capability development and document development. Ensures the establishment of necessary process documentation for the global implementation and sustainment of the Accelerate SAP system in alignment with the program schedule and budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the success of Accelerate by executing the program’s global process management activities.
  • Implement process-related standards, guidelines, principles, tools, metrics, and methodologies including establishing standards of quality for process documentation.
  • Assist in defining Accelerate business process architecture determining when maps, policies, and procedures need to be produced.
  • Support ‘global first’ documentation approach including guidance and oversight on when local process variations will be approved.
  • Facilitate process governance methods with Workstream Leaders, BPOs (Business Process Owners) and GPGOs (Global Process Governance Owners).
  • Partner with the Workstreams on process creation, updates and documentation while minimizing the administrative burden on Workstream Leaders, BPOs (Business Process Owens) and GPGOs (Global Process Governance Owners).
  • Execute the process for the identification or roles within processes.  This should be in-sync with SAP security roles and the business needs of Stryker.
  • Ensure processes are correctly linked together through E2E scenarios.
  • Execute training on the process management strategy and associated capabilities.
  • Partner closely with the training team and OCM (organizational change management) to synchronize with and leverage already planned meetings, activities, and tools in the creation of necessary documentation (minimize duplication of work).
  • Work with the Accelerate program and Stryker leaders to more broadly influence Stryker to a more mature process-oriented culture.
  • Educate business leaders on process management disciplines and technologies.
  • Assist in defining and updating the approach, tools and organizational structure to achieve the enterprise's process improvement outcomes.
  • Identify the benefits and challenges of being process-driven and assist in the development of the tactics to achieve the enterprise's process improvement goals.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of the strategy for the process improvement journey.
  • Interact and positively influence key Divisional and corporate staff in this transition.
  • Train others on BPM techniques and tools.

Education and Special Training:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field of study.  Prefer Master's Degree in Business Administration and/or CPA.


  • 8+ years of industry experience across multiple process areas, including experience in managing business process mapping or equivalent.
  • Must be able to generate and explain detailed proposals, guidelines and procedures.
  • Must be able to resolve complex process and/or systems issues using independent judgment.
  • Must be able to routinely make decisions that affect immediate business processes and may have a company wide effect.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple, concurrent tasks.
  • Must be able to communicate with large groups of people.
  • Must be able to review printed materials.
  • Ability to use common office equipment (e.g. calculator, PC, fax machine, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate problem solving teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed process plans using BPM tools and methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, track and facilitate projects using applicable tools (Gantt and Pert Charts etc.).
  • Demonstrated skill in supervisory/managerial positions.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of quality system.
