Job Description

Provide Workday and subject matter expertise to HR Operations, HR Centers of Expertise and HR Functional leaders. Perform functional system administration activities on Compensation and Talent Management functionality. Consult on system design activities within HR projects, providing HR system expertise and guidance on the benefits of automating and standardizing HR functionality.

  • Work with functional leadership to develop requirements for Workday configuration and collaborate with HR Operations and COEs on implementation of functionality.
  • Manage Workday functionality and business processes – break/fix, issue resolution and enhancements.
  • Provide instruction for HR Operations on the use of Workday applications and troubleshooting errors.
  • Serve as escalation point for unresolved Workday issues from Tier 2 Workforce Administrators.
  • Log/maintain tickets in ticket tracking systems.
  • Perform Workday release tasks and regression testing, twice per year and weekly when required.
  • Analyze and consult on interface solutions in sharing data with other HR applications and downstream systems.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners and HR operations to execute security and access changes to functional security roles.
  • Actively participate and represent Stryker on Workday Community; networking, troubleshooting and sharing functionality improvements for future release considerations.
  • Coordinate and communicate system changes, required systems maintenance/downtime, changes in functionality, etc. to the HR operations team and other impacted functions.
  • Understand proper use, storage and transmission of sensitive employee data and actively participate in system and data quality compliance activities.


  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. Degree in Business, Information Technology or related major is preferred. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Seven to ten years’ experience in an HRIS or functional systems role or equivalent transferable skills required 

  • Experience with Workday applications or integrated HR and payroll systems is required 

  • System implementation or other applicable project execution experience required 

  • Experience collaborating with diverse team members in a remote or virtual setting preferred
