What you will do


As a Business Process Manager (BPM), you will partner with Stryker’s HR Operations, HR Centers of Expertise (COE) and HR functional leads to provide subject matter expertise from our HR system, Workday. Using the network connections in the global Workday community, you will also be responsible for building the bridge between the needs and system capability. You will be surrounded by a team of people who are all dedicated toward leveraging our system to ensure the positive employee experience is never compromised as we expand and continuously improve our system functionality. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Perform functional system administration activities on core HCM, talent acquisition, compensation, talent management, U.S. payroll, time, and absence functionality
  • Consult on system design activities within HR projects, providing HR system expertise and guidance on the benefits of automating and standardizing HR functionality
  • Work with functional leadership to develop requirements for Workday configuration and collaborate with HR Operations and COEs on implementation of functionality
  • Manage Workday functionality and business processes – break/fix, issue resolution and enhancements
  • Provide instruction for HR Operations on the use of Workday applications and troubleshooting errors
  • Serve as escalation point for unresolved Workday issues from Tier 2 Workforce Administrators
  • Log and maintain tickets in ticket tracking systems
  • Perform Workday release tasks and regression testing, twice per year and weekly when required
  • Analyze and consult on interface solutions in sharing data with other HR applications and downstream systems
  • Collaborate with HR business partners and HR operations to execute security and access changes to functional security roles
  • Actively participate and represent Stryker on Workday Community; networking, troubleshooting and sharing functionality improvements for future release considerations
  • Coordinate and communicate system changes, required systems maintenance/downtime, changes in functionality, etc. to the HR operations team and other impacted functions
  • Understand proper use, storage and transmission of sensitive employee data and actively participate in system and data quality compliance activities.

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Business, Information Technology or related major is preferred
  • 4+ years experience in an HRIS or functional systems role or equivalent transferrable skills required
  • Strong experience with Workday applications or comparable HR systems required.
  • Detailed knowledge for how the HR Function typically partners with the business.
  • Must be able to manage and implement simple to complex system projects.
  • Must be able to manage large volumes of data and have a strong process orientation
  • System implementation or other applicable project execution experience preferred
  • Experience collaborating with diverse team members in a remote or virtual setting preferred
