Stryker is implementing a transformative program focused on optimizing the Finance function to support business growth, functional scalability and empowers our Finance talent to focus on value-added work that aligns to his/her strengths.

The Business Finance Project Manager role is integral in achieving the Finance program’s vision. This person will be responsible for actively working with leadership to manage key strategies for achieving long term program objectives. The role will work closely with the Finance transformation Business Finance team leads. This person will provide effective program management across teams to drive management of the program. This includes coordination across the Finance transformation program work streams and other teams outside of the program including Human Resources, Information Systems and Finance. This role leverages his/her in-depth knowledge of project management.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Prepares and reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
  • Confers with customer/project sponsor(s) and project staff to outline workplan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
  • Coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others
  • Assists program teams in setup, coordination and planning of workshops, interviews, data gathering sessions, defining and executing required analyses, identifying issues and problems and recommending approach to address them
  • Manages and owns status meetings, RAID logs, and supports issue resolution
  • Prioritizes projects based on changing functional needs, resource capacity, risk exposure, and their interdependencies; ensures that investments and initiatives in project management services are aligned with Finance strategy and priorities and growth goals
  • Provides direction to multi-disciplinary teams, regarding lean, process standardization and simplification, operating model design, program management, and change management who are engaged on key company change programs

Education & special training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA/CA or MBA preferred
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)

Qualifications & experience:

  • 10 years of experience in project management
  • Fluency in English required
  • General knowledge of Record-to-Report, Business Finance, Manufacturing, Business Operations and Master Data
  • Experience managing system implementations in the above functional areas
  • Experience managing budget and schedule
  • Experience communicating to Director to VP level executives
  • Strong drive and proactiveness to make the project succeed
  • Experience managing multiple vendors on the project
  • Experience managing the update of complex integrations to other applications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a direct team and to drive change across functions through influence
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally in a matrix structure and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • Experience working in a globally dispersed team of professionals in a complex matrixed organization
  • Experience communicating and articulating an issue or point of view to a varied audience both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management
  • Ability to meet the rigorous deadlines of a growth company; ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities, coordinate and manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and define business problems and identify appropriate operational or process solutions

Physical & mental requirements:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business meetings, workshops and leadership meetings
