Basic Function:

This role will have responsibilities related to the support of our Vice President/General Manager, Endoscopy Business Unit, the leadership team and the organization, including assignments that involve work of a confidential and/or complex nature, exposure to sensitive information and contacts, thereby requiring considerable discretion, judgment, and diplomacy. In general, provides partnership in multiple areas including business-facing communication & events, tactical support of our VP/GM, and other employee engagement related event management. This role requires an understanding of business vocabulary and knowledge of the organization’s operations, procedures, and people.

Communication & Events:

  • Partner with business leaders and Communication/PR leader to develop and distribute internal employee communications from the desk of the VP/GM or business unit leadership team
  • Prepare content in accordance with Stryker’s branding guidelines for employee communications regarding business updates
  • Oversee Town Hall-style production events including logistics of set-up, content to be shared, and manages relationship with outside vendors
  • Oversee on- & offsite business meetings & reviews, including logistics of scheduling, meals, and any approved travel and lodging.
     

Tactical Responsibilities:

  • Complete expense reports for multiple leaders and ensures compliance with local and corporate guidelines.
  • Oversee complex calendar and scheduling requirements, coordination and planning of travel,
  • Partner with leadership team to compile monthly business highlights 
  • Partner with VP/GM and leadership team to create content for various business forums, such as “Monthly Wrap Up” and monthly/quarterly business reviews
  • Maintains and updates as necessary the business unit leadership SharePoint site ensuring all applicable content is posted and shared through a timely, organized manner

Business Support:

  • On behalf of leadership team, own employee recognition program (CBAs) including organization of nominations, compiling data and analytics, and issuing communication regarding awards 
  • Plan employee engagement & recognition events including agenda creation, logistics, communication, and procurement of supplies and/or catering
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business partners, leadership, and business unit by collaborating and providing a high level of customer service
  • Participate in budget tracking as needed for events
  • Support activities related to integration of new businesses
  • May perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Other Requirements:

Education or Special Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A, or B.S.) in applicable field or equivalent required.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
  • Must be able to review printed materials
  • Must be able to communicate with groups of people
  • Must be able to communicate telephonically
  • Must be able to use common office equipment (e.g. calculator, PC, scanner, etc.)
  • Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, product appearance, etc.)
  • Must have advanced writing and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize requests and work assignments
  • Must be able to manage & communicate detailed schedules, tasks, and activities
  • Must be able to analyze and resolve non-routine issues of a moderate to diverse scope using independent judgment.
  • Exercises considerable discretion and independent judgment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency in word processing and graphics layout programs (i.e., Photoshop, Marketo, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills specifically relating to company-wide communications and meetings
