The Business Analyst in this role will be responsible for engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders within the Stryker organization that are considering a data product or solution. This role will allow the individual to feed their appetite for innovation by creating data driven solutions for our customers. Those customers could span internal teams that are looking to create meaningful visualizations and insights from device derived data as well as externally facing solutions focused on data insights from connected products for healthcare stakeholders. We engage with multiple Divisions across the enterprise allowing the Business Analyst to be exposed to a wide cross section of Stryker products and solutions.


  • Engage with new product development teams on the use cases and requirements for creating “data” products sourced from device data that will serve the user needs of external healthcare stakeholders. 
  • Encourage innovation and concept exploration of meaningful data solutions by working with cross functional stakeholders to shape solutions. 
  • Work closely with the Connected Care Delivery Teams to refine and document requirements spanning UI/UX, data engineering, and analytics solutions.
  • Partner with Connected Care Research and Development to evolve our suite of Technology blocks as part of the Managed Platform process. 
  • Support the architecture design and delivery of Connected Care platforms (Connected Care platforms are internal and external facing applications).
  • Defines the business problem and primary objectives for new projects. Identify and validate the key business requirements.
  • Elicit system-integration specific requirements using interviews, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, and workflow analysis to contribute system and solution design requirements.
  • Coordinate requirements and walk-through verification with user representatives/stakeholders of use cases and process models that accurately portray specific business needs.
  • Evaluate potential software solutions, including off-the-shelf and open source components, and the system architecture to ensure that they meet business requirements.
  • Organize and maintain the structure of the required documentation across a large number of system integration projects and activities.
  • Subject matter expert capable of participating in cross-functional business process re-engineering teams and continuous improvement efforts.

Education/Special Training Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent.

Qualifications/Work Experience Preferred:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent independent judgment skills.

  • Strong analytics and problem solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to translate customer needs into functional requirements.

  • Demonstrated building requirements, detailed specifications and testing plans and strategies in a systems integration environment.

  • Demonstrated functional knowledge of organizational hardware, software and languages.

  • 4 years minimum experience in information technology, R&D or related discipline.

  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to investigate and understand advanced technologies.

  • Basic to fundamental understanding of project management.

  • Willingness and ability to travel (estimate 25% travel)
