Responsibilities

The Associate Supply Planning Manager will be responsible for leading the development of a valid master schedule for the regional buying center. The established schedule will be expected to facilitate balancing supply and demand, meeting customer service requirements and fully utilizing the supplier’s manufacturing resources. In addition, the Associate Supply Planning Manager will support and lead key strategic initiatives and projects for the regional buying center.

The Associate Supply Planning Manager is responsible for sustainment and improvement of business processes; working cross-functionally, and preparing the business for new product introductions (including those from mergers and acquisitions) and business integration activities. This position will also serve as the primary point of contact in Materials for new product introductions and integrations.

This role requires collaboration with multiple functions including but not limited to Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Manufacturing Operations, Sourcing, Quality and IS.

Specific responsibilities of the Associate Supply Planning Manager include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop and maintain the aggregate supply plan for the regional buying center
  • Manage monthly supply review process for the regional buying center and provide updates for Executive Supply Reviews (ESR) as needed
  • Participate in franchise Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes and operations planning meetings as required
  • Partner with the Demand Manager/Planner to balance finished good demand with supply and communicate potential customer service issues
  • Maintain and provide valid available-to-promise (ATP) data to sales and marketing organization to guard against over-committing resources and materials
  • Identify and resolve conflicts with supply and demand, and availability of capacity.
  • Manage capacity planning and ensure leadership is provided with the right insight in regard to planning future capital investment; support operations team with key capacity projects
  • Utilize hypothetical scenarios to evaluate proposed Master Schedule changes to determine the impact on materials and capacity
  • Process and track MPS action/exception messages as required (e.g., daily by message type)
  • Define and maintain safety stock levels for assigned finished goods and/or end items in compliance with safety stock policy
  • Strategic and operational management of inventory, meeting operational and customer service targets while minimizing cost of working capital and potential obsolescence and redundancy
  • Create and/or facilitate the creation of business processes that support the quality management system for the regional buying center
  • Manage supply planning integration activity for new sites, partnering with management as a subject matter expert on systems, processes, and general supply planning and IBP practices
  • Develop business processes as required to support new product introductions (NPI), product life cycle management (PLCM) and program development; support NPI and PLCM systems, processes, and program development
  • Supports key strategic initiatives and projects as required
  • Train, mentor and provide support for Buyer/Planners

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field is required. APICS, CSCP (Supply Chain) or CPIM (Production and Inventory) certifications are preferred, but not required.

Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in production, planning, scheduling or similar supply chain related field.

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders to deliver results
  • Project management capability and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to establish and leverage strong working relationships with internal teams
  • Experience with Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM), process improvements, supply chain planning, product launches and portfolio optimization is desired
  • Demonstrated MRP proficiency, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong Business & Financial Acumen
