Who we want:

The Integrated Manufacturing group based in Kalamazoo, MI is looking for an Associate Quality Manager with a solid understanding of quality systems process and continuous improvement. We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships and work closely with other functional areas including engineering, operations, and R&D. 

We need an individual with strong interpersonal communication who can forge deep relationships across teams and functions. You must be able to influence others, motivate a team and develop individual and department goals. A high level of technical mastery and innovative problem solving must also be a part of your day to day.

What you will do:

As an Associate Quality Manager, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining Quality Assurance systems and QA improvement projects for operations related to new products and acquisitions.

  • You will design and/or implement methods and procedures for inspecting testing and evaluating the precision and reliability of products and/or components and production and/or test equipment.
  • You will prepare documentation for inspection/testing procedures.
  • You will interact with customers and/or suppliers either telephonically or in person to solve reliability issues and/or answer general product questions.
  • You will analyze reports and/or return products and recommends for corrective action.
  • You will be responsible for the activities of Quality Control Inspectors, Technicians and/or Quality Engineers.
  • You will evaluate the performance of the team based on pre-established performance parameters and you will coach and develop direct reports.
  • You will train others in QA/GMP related topics
  • Additional responsibility to ensure that your assigned group complies with company policies and corrective actions.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or related discipline
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience preferred
  • 5 + years’ experience in a related RA/QA or engineering role
  • Solid understanding of the various processes in this area including lathes, mills, metal injection molding, and various finishing and coating operations
  • Solid understanding of inspection methodology, GD&T, familiarity with equipment qualification and process validation requirements. 
  • Key abilities in leadership: encourage, motivate, direct, and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and supervisors to achieve the business goals.
