Associate Project Manager

Position Summary:

Is a strategic partner to the business through the development, delivery and evaluation of effective development activities and processes that optimise Project Management competency development for the Stryker Ireland sites.

Manage assigned projects from initiation through to successful deployment and handover.

Manage the deployment of PMO processes, tools, and governance means across the four Ireland sites

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a systematic process for Project Management based training, education, development and learning opportunities.
  • Promote on the job learning, mentoring, coaching programmes and resources.
  • In partnership with HR, design and implement a PM Competency Framework, and PM Career Path Process.
  • Assist with the identification of core competencies for recruitment and development.
  • Design processes and tools to identify, structure and develop PM Competencies.
  • Lead & deliver Projects fully. Goal and expectation is on time, on budget and to appropriate quality.
  • Manage various people-related strategic initiatives and projects identified by Leadership across the four sites.
  • Support the deployment of PMO to new areas in Stryker.
  • Develop training content for the deployment of the PMO tools and associated processes.
  • Understand Stakeholders around Strategy and Portfolio progress, and develop Reports and Metrics to satisfy stakeholder needs. Prepare a variety of reports covering project portfolio status, resource planning and other management reports.
  • Assist Project Managers in the organisation of Portfolio reviews with Senior Management to ensure Portfolio is developed and tracked.
  • Contribute to building, maintaining and enhancing PMO systems, support tools and resources
  • Act as a Facilitator and Change Agent where required.
  • Liaise with external bodies and training companies, where required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree or Masters Qualification in a Project Management and/or Org Development related discipline is a requirement.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience in a PM/Org Development related role is essential.
  • PMI Certification or equivalent is preferable.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks in projects.
  • Must be capable of managing Stakeholders, understanding their needs and working to fulfil their needs on a daily basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. A high level of organizational skills along with a disciplined and focused approach, with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Customer service skills. Is very helpful, approachable, and accessible and seeks to proactively meet customer’s needs.
  • Communication skills (listening, oral and written).
  • Facilitation, mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Integrity, honesty, confidentiality and builds trust with others.
  • Self-assurance and confidence.
  • Ability to learn, grow and drives own professional development.
  • Influencing and effective decision making.
  • Empathy talent is an advantage.
