Job Description

The Associate Manager, Financial Reporting is an integral leader within the Internal Reporting team in the Worldwide Reporting function.  This position is primarily responsible for preparation of worldwide consolidated financial statements for internal and external reporting and providing end-user and system support to HFM. This position also assists in analyzing financial reports identifying key trends in the business or through subsidiaries, may assist with the creation of presentations for the Board of Directors or stakeholders, and researches and advises senior management on new financial reporting requirements.

What you will do:

  • Lead and oversee the preparation, consolidation, analytical review and delivery of the worldwide consolidated financial statements including flash and actual results including consolidation and review of the product line P&L in compliance and alignment with Stryker's policies and Regulatory bodies
  • Coordinate and serve as a key business partner between key corporate teams, groups and divisions
  • Assist end users in troubleshooting data validation issues.  Must be able to independently research/troubleshoot/resolve financial reporting and system related issues.
  • Work with locations to implement Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) or improve the efficiency of their FDM or Smart View loading process
  • Create/update data input tools for end users, including Smart View templates and HFM data forms
  • Provide top tier end user support; Monitor and respond to shared inboxes, HFM ServiceNow tickets, and other support tools during and after standard work hours
  • Deliver training based on global needs to support month end close and planning processes and support development/execution of Worldwide Reporting training strategy
  • Lead close compliance and delivery of SOX controls. Partner with Internal/External audit teams to review controls and controls documentation/evidence
  • Coordinating and reviewing financial restates
  • Management and oversight of Intercompany matching and eliminations
  • Lead, oversee and perform Divisional Financial Statement Reviews
  • Complete Ad Hoc financial statement analysis as requested
  • Provide assistance to the FP&A department in preparation, consolidation, and review of projections, strategic plans and annual budget
  • Serve as the auditor for all system changes.  Prepare documentation and review before changes are loaded to the production environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in our month end close/consolidation, planning, and reporting processes

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • A combined 6 years of experience, with both Big 4 public accounting and global Fortune 500 company experience is preferred
  • Substantial experience financial reporting and financial consolidation
  • Prior experience using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task on competing and deadline sensitive priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to effectively manage process and collaborate across multi-functional dotted-line relationships
  • Prior management/supervisory experience

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 30%
