Job Description

The Job's Mission is:

Based in Amsterdam, the role will report on an interim basis to a Senior Communications Manager during her temporary assignment and later report to the Director of Communications, Europe once hired. This role will support core elements of the communications function for Stryker Europe, including employee communications, leadership communications for ELT and aligning business and regional activities with Corporate CPA priorities.

Key Activities & Accountabilities:

- In partnership with Director of Communications, drive a strategic and proactive approach to communications, and ensure messages align with the company’s strategies, goals, objectives and brand

- Help develop the plan, pipeline and calendar for all content that goes to our employees in Europe

- Measure and report on effectiveness of communications and channels

- Provide project management and operational support for annual European Sales Meeting, with a focus on leadership communications and aligning business activities

-Identify/manage development of communications tools/templates that professionalize communications with country teams, etc.

- Develop strategy to build Europe’s Connect pages and align with Corporate CPA team resources

- Serve as a business partner point of contact for local mar-comm resources in Europe

- Drive engagement amongst local mar-comm resources and align activities to the global communicators network

- Review internal requests and provide recommendations; help assess opportunities and coordinate responses with other stakeholders as needed

- Serve as liaison with Corporate Marketing team regarding brand considerations and needs in Europe


- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field

Competencies and Experience:

- 3-5 years of experience working in corporate communications or an agency setting

- Execution-oriented, self-starter and self-navigator who can prioritize high-value projects versus tasks in a fast-paced environment and balance demands of multiple projects

- Responsive, with a customer-centric / solutions-oriented approach and the ability to serve a wide range of needs within the organization and at all levels

- Ability to communicate with and understand business needs and articulate those needs in a strategy and plan

- Ability to work strategically and tactically across all levels of the organization

- Problem solver with creative approach to proactive identification and resolution of issues

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is very strongly preferred

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to tailor communications style to audience  

- Experience working in a decentralized environment is a plus
