Job Description

The Associate Manager, Acquisitions and Integration Accounting will report to the Manager, Acquisitions and Integration Accounting and be responsible for ensuring acquisitions are accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Stryker’s global accounting policies. The Associate Manager will work closely with members of Stryker’s division, group, and corporate accounting teams as well as cross functional with tax, treasury, and legal to drive the valuation and reporting of Stryker's acquisitions, including coordination with Stryker's third party valuation firm and external auditors.  The Associate Manager will be the primary contact for ongoing contingent consideration valuations and provide Stryker leadership with associated cash flow forecasts.  


What you will do

  • Assist Stryker’s divisional finance teams with merger and acquisition (M&A) activities (including reviewing and driving consistency on acquisition and contingent consideration valuations, building opening balance sheet walks to facilitate divisional recording of acquisitions in accordance with U.S. GAAP, and reviewing acquisition balances to ensure compliance with SOX and audit requirements)
  • Research, resolve, and document acquisition related technical accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Drive quarterly and annual SEC disclosures for acquisition related balances
  • Ensure adherence of Stryker’s global accounting policies
  • Facilitate Stryker’s external auditor review of acquisition valuations and disclosures 

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with an active CPA
  • A combined 6 years of experience, with both Big 4 public accounting and global Fortune 500 company experience
  • Substantial experience in authoritative U.S. GAAP technical accounting research and application
  • Prior experience using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Prior experience in reviewing or completing valuation models
  • Ability to multi-task on competing and deadline sensitive priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to effectively manage process and collaborate across multi-functional dotted-line relationships

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 30%
