This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with the Mako robotics and core R&D teams in the Joint Replacement Division as a business partner and build relationships with internal customers. Job Responsibilities

  • Provide financial guidance and assistance to every level of business function(s) assigned.
  • Ensure budgets and forecasts meet organization's financial targets.
  • Recommend and follow through on appropriate corrective action.
  • Manage multiple projects' financial performance against plan, ensuring accuracy, communication to leadership of performance and appropriate revisions to plan.
  • Provide resource management awareness to business functions assigned and ensure functional activities and financial commitments are aligned.
  • Provide timely explanations of department operating expense variances between actual results and forecasts/budget both verbally and in periodic reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and perform special projects for executive management.
  • Perform financial review of all CER and DAR requests.
  • Identify and modify internal financial infrastructure to align with organizational changes, as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of and explanation of the P&L to management. 
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and formulate required accruals in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain balance sheet accounts associated with business unit assigned (e.g., prepaid maintenance contracts) and complete balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with prescribed format and timelines.
  • Effectively navigate multiple software systems (e.g., Hyperion Enterprise, Cognos, HFM and Oracle responsibilities, for example) to address inquiries, generate reporting, investigate and identify issues as well as formulate corrective actions.
  • Serve as “stand-in” for Director when business scheduling conflicts arise.

What you need

  • 7+ years of experience in a financial environment, and/or diversified accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Prefer CPA, CFA and/or Master's Degree in Business Administration or Finance. 
  • 1-3 years of experience providing direct finance support to a business function
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated applied knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise or HFM and Oracle
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, financial project management and prioritize workload
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze financial statements/other data in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize, communicate (both verbally and in writing), and present financial information and recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to provide internal customer service and partner/influence business leaders
