Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the inventory accounting function including monthly account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting results (ex. margin, balances, inventory adjustments)
  • Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with company policy.
  • Perform review of manufacturing variances and help to driven corrective action where required.
  • Perform review of inventory reserve calculations.
  • Participate in the development of Operations Budgets and Forecasts.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives.
  • Reconcile inventory related general ledger balance sheet accounts on a timely basis.
  • Perform analysis of custom products and new products costs and contribution margin.
  • Drive process changes in the Finance area to ensure the provision of information to key business owners is more efficient
  • Manage annual cost standards update process in timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in Sarbanes Oxley and other financial audits; prepare appropriate reports and documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure that adequate internal financial controls exist and are adhered to within the facility
  • Review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items.
  • Maintain a perpetual inventory for finished goods and reconcile this perpetual to production, shipping, and returns on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in or lead special projects as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance or equivalent discipline is required.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferred experience within cost/inventory accounting strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting controls, adherence to GAAP for inventory
  • Advanced experience with Excel, JD Edwards, Data Warehouse Reporting software
  • The successful candidate will be customer focused and act as a liaison between Finance and Manufacturing
