Job Description

This position -- supporting Stryker Sustainability Solutions in Tempe, AZ -- will be a critical department resource processing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and reviewing department sub-ledgers as well as other tasks within the Accounting Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares journal entries, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Maintains records of assets and liabilities in the areas of (not limited to): Prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany accounts, sales tax, and accrual accounts.
  • Manages Division’s CER process.
  • Participates in division and cross-divisional accounting matters including financial transactions or procedures.
  • Reconciles intercompany balances.
  • Executes ad-hoc reporting on assigned topics; adding accounting insight and acumen.
  • Maintain and update documentation including SOX Narratives as applicable to remain compliant to regulations.
  • Compiles and evaluates federal, state, property tax related information, collaborates with corporate tax and governmental stakeholders and ensures compliance with established deadlines.
  • Identifies and remediates reconciling items.
  • Prepares quarterly and year-end schedules.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. in business with an emphasis in accounting or related curriculum.
  • 1-2 years general accounting or related experience preferred.
  • Familiar with general accounting and financial reporting (including knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley).
  • Experience in JDE/HFM preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to analyze and resolve routine accounting issues using independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated communication, customer service and analytical skills.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Work From Home: Regularly scheduled days

Travel Percentage: 20%
