At Stryker's Sage division, we develop products used to prevent hospital-acquired conditions such as ventilator-associated conditions, skin injury due to incontinence, pressure injuries, surgical site infections and healthcare worker injury across the continuum of care. This position is an exciting opportunity and will provide invaluable work experience in a growing company.

This is a summer internship in the QC Chemistry department which will last approximately 12 weeks.

What you will do: Assist the quality control (QC) chemistry department with advancing analytical method validations to support the growth of our business into new market, as well as bringing new products to the US market and abroad. Work with high performance liquid chromatography instrument, gas chromatography instrument, writing technical documents and collaborate within a quality control environment.

What you will bring: Currently enrolled in a chemistry or equivalent degree program. Preferred analytical chemistry course completed, not required.  A passion for chemistry and the desire to learn the role of a chemist in a cutting edge pharmaceutical environment. Excellent oral, written & communication/presentation aptitude, problem solving, critical thinking capabilities, professionalism, intellectually curious, time management & organizational skills.

Previous lab experience is desired and priority will be given to candidates who have previous experience working safely in a chemistry lab environment, but it is not a requirement (training will be provided).

What You Need

• Currently working on completion of Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer

• Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring

• Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow

• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

• Ability to exercise independent judgment

• Basic understanding of computer networking technology

• Experience with process mapping.

• Proven leadership and business acumen skills

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Strong interpersonal skills
