What you will do:
- Lead and drive the HIS connectivity modules within the ConnectedOR software ecosystem which manages data movement into and out of Health Information Systems over internal and hospital networks
- Lead and drive the Device to Device (D2D) connectivity modules within the ConnectedOR software ecosystem which is responsible for handling communication between devices within the Operating Room
- Author/Update use cases, software requirements specifications, software design documents, and test specifications for new/existing capabilities. Execute unit testing.
- Determine and implement design approaches and parameters and conduct feasibility studies on new designs in an Agile SCRUM environment.
- Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate the results.
- Assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.
- Support patient data interoperability between the ConnectedOR platform and customer information systems. Work with Service personnel to troubleshoot DICOM and related patient data management issues occurring at customer sites.
- Lead and drive the connectivity and security lab at Stryker Endoscopy
- Finally, as a key member of the software community within Stryker, you will participate in the greater Stryker software community to continually improve the way we work and with mentoring/training other software engineers/interns
What you need:
- 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience designing and developing complex software systems.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field of study.
- Mastery of interoperability standards such as DICOM, HL7, FHIR standards
- Deep understanding of common communication protocols (Physical, Network, Transport and Application layers)
- Experience with Cybersecurity, Networking, IHE.
- Expertise developing C# .NET Windows applications.
- Expertise in object-oriented programming
- Knowledge of compliance and data privacy frameworks like HIPAA, HiTRUST, GDPR
- Analytical skills to breakdown complex issues by analyzing log files and system behaviors at customer sites to develop workarounds and to characterized potential feature enhancements.
- Knowledge of formal software lifecycle processes necessary for software development in an FDA-regulated medical device development environment a strong plus.
