Stryker’s Medical Products is seeking to hire a Staff Process Engineer, Advanced Operations to support new product & process introduction at Sage Products in Cary, Illinois.

  • Analytical problem solvers. People who go beyond just fixing to identify root causes, evaluate optimal solutions, and recommend comprehensive upgrades to prevent future issues.


  • You will be a part of new product development team and will be responsible for formulation and manufacturing process development through concept to product commercialization programs.

  • You will support capital acquisition activities from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, Installation and validation activities.

  • Develop and execute equipment and process validations related to mix system components, filling, compounding, cleaning and other manufacturing processes.

  • Use engineering techniques to reduce product time to market whilst adhering to regulatory requirements, project deadlines and product costs.

  • Develop process piping, valving and tankage to support the manufacturing process performance.

  • Develop approaches to a variety of technical problems and troubleshooting complex issues based on expertise.

  • Help to identify the critical process parameters that must be controlled to achieve the defined quality requirements of the final product.

  • Use risk assessment to prioritize process parameters for experimental verification, combining prior knowledge with experiments to establish a design space or other representation of process understanding.

  • Develop Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and control plans and executing Design of Experiments (DOE).

  • Identify areas of improvement and serve as the project manager in seeing these changes through.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering - required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering - preferred

  • 5+ years relevant work experience- required

  • BPE (bioprocessing equipment) standard experience - required

  • Previous work experience in pharmaceutical, food processing or cosmetic industry - preferred

  • Ingredient addition process experience including how to clean & maintain systems - preferred

  • Process development of high-speed manufacturing process automation - preferred

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 10%
