We are currently seeking a Staff Engineer, System Integration - Joint Replacement to join our Joint Replacement division in Davie, Florida

What you will do:

Will be responsible for design, documentation, integration of system features (software, robotic arm, implants, and surgical instruments) and development of infrastructure tools or processes for scalability and modularity to deliver best-in-class robotic-assisted orthopedic solutions.

What you need:

  • 2 years of experience integrating complex electro-mechanical devices
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Aerospace engineering.
  • Experience with integrating with complex electro-mechanical devices is essential.
  • Experience with creation of Integration plans to organize system integration activities and manage system configurations to ensure smooth integration of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with Robotics Engineers to devise integration phases, criteria, tests and assist with the design of features to deliver best-in-class robotic-assisted orthopedic solutions.
  • Experience in managing engineering and cadaver lab integration activities to design and demo surgical applications to surgeon users.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering processes to assess complex problems and depict complex systems using model-based systems engineering (SysML & UML).
  • Technical knowledge of systems engineering processes and methodologies to develop statistical mathematical models of complex systems.
  • Orthopedic experience with knee, hip, ankle, shoulder, spine, etc is a plus
  • Experience with systems engineering principles as it applies to medical device development from concept phase to final design and commercial release
  • Experience with documenting system design and architecture in SysML is a plus
  • Well versed with software’s such as MATLAB, 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Pro-E), statistical analysis tools (Minitab), Reverse engineering & analysis tools (Geomagic Qualify or Studio)
  • Experience with creation of design specifications and requirements definition
  • Experience with use of risk management practices applied to medical device development
  • Experience with developing test protocols/procedures, collecting and analyzing data, and creating detailed reports.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive integration of computer vision-based robotics systems for surgical navigation.
  • Create Integration plans to organize system integration activities and manage system configurations to ensure smooth integration of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Work with Robotics Engineers to devise integration phases, criteria, tests and assist with the design of features to deliver best-in-class robotic-assisted orthopedic solutions.
  • Manage engineering and cadaver lab integration activities to design and demo surgical applications to surgeon users.
  • Establish Systems Engineering Management methods, tools or technologies for scalability and modularity of products.
  • Use systems engineering processes to assess complex problems and depict complex systems.
  • Use systems engineering processes and methodologies to develop statistical mathematical models of complex systems.
  • Work under supervision with surgeon customers in a user setting, clearly communicate design goals and incorporate feedback into designs.
  • Design and implement complex concepts, draft design documentation, plan and conduct relevant tests under professional leadership.
  • Apply processes and standards to ensure compliance per regulatory standards and Stryker’s Quality System.
  • Integrate and administer development tools including required validation under close professional leadership.
  • Meet the needs of internal customers such as GQO, AO, AQE etc. as applicable for specific project assignments.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the clinical application of Stryker’s robotic solutions and product line.
