What will you do

As a Staff Process Development Engineer, you will be a part of new product development team to work on design concept to product commercialization programs. You will identify and implement best in class manufacturing processes/automation to support the new product portfolio. You will lead/support capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, Installation and validation activities.

  • Executes the innovation and development of assigned project elements with an emphasis on the manufacturing process, technology and procedures required for the manufacture of new products.
  • Independently determines and develops approaches to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Develop capital projects including equipment estimates, resource plans, and quality requirements. Monitor and report on project progress to ensure delivery on time and on budget.
  • Uses latest engineering techniques to reduce product time to market whilst adhering to regulatory requirements, project deadlines and product costs.
  • Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures.
  • Execute equipment and process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP and PPAP generation associated with product transfers and launches.

What you need

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical, Electrical or Controls Engineering preferred. Other technical Bachelors degrees will be considered based on relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience; Medical device, automotive, pharmaceutical or food industry manufacturing experience preferred
  • Hands on experience in manufacturing processes
  • Experience in high speed manufacturing process automation strongly preferred
  • Experience in one or more of these areas: plastic molding, ultrasonic/RF welding, sealing, thermo-forming or sewing processes strongly preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma green or black belt strongly preferred
