GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordinating with suppliers to disposition, return, and/or repair discrepant material.  Work includes RMA coordination and authorization, shipping/receiving returns from supplier base, obtaining materials/equipment from supplier for on-site repairs, approval of rework/scrap at supplier, and tracking of relevant Stryker owned materials (local and at suppliers) at suppliers.  Interfaces with Purchasing, Quality Engineering, Quality Technicians and Product Engineering as well as multiple domestic and international suppliers.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contact suppliers to authorize and obtain RMA’s, evaluate cost impact of return options, and coordinate related activities.  Ships materials to the supplier/vendor.
  • Establish supplier re-work priorities (in conjunction with Purchasing and Quality) and work cross functionally with Purchasing/Engineering/Quality to resolve stranded inventory issues.  Ensure that supplier failure analysis and rework reports are completed in a timely manner and distributed to correct internal teams.
  • Maintain and reconciles (minimum semi-annual basis) the physical/electronic inventory for relevant non-conforming locations and prepares report. Supports the Inventory Control functions in database maintenance and reporting processes.
  • Utilize data collection and monitoring systems to collect, monitor, and analyze material failure information.  Maintain and report on area metrics (e.g. Aging, value, material location) for materials returns.
  • May create rework purchase orders / debit memos to manage inventory movement to/from supplier and may reconcile the inventory of non-conforming material locations to open purchase orders and resolves any associated issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned (e.g. inspections, repair activities, creating and/or verifying MRB dispositions).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of related job experience.

PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 or more years experience in the field of material/inventory control, quality, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of Purchasing, Accounts payable, Material costs, and/or Quality processes and methods.
  • Demonstrated planning, forecasting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Positive people skills and a team approach to problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and write policies and procedures.
  • Professional and effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, good organization skills and be detailed orientated.
  • Working knowledge of factory ERP systems.
  • Working knowledge of PC applications (particularly spreadsheet and database management).

  • Office and Production line environment.
  • Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.
