What you will do

  • Represent R&D in cross functional programs, provide direction and observations on internal customer objectives
  • Support the evaluation of new technologies
  • Independently implement complex concepts, draft design documentation, plan and conduct relevant tests
  • Participate in, solicit feedback and document reports as needed on cadaveric evaluations
  • Work under supervision with surgeon customers in a user setting, clearly communicate design goals and incorporate feedback into designs
  • Support for the design of architectural concepts under close professional leadership
  • Apply processes and Standards
  • Independently Integrate and administer development tools including required validation
  • Support maintenance and improvement of engineering methods and practices
  • Support training and mentoring activities regarding established engineering best practices, design principles, processes and tools
  • Work with core team to determine project schedules and time commitments of self and other functional project team members and clearly communicate status of assignments to project management.
  • Investigates novel problems
  • Design and implement solutions to address identified problems
  • Be detail oriented with strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

What you need

  • Degree in Human Factors Engineering, Usability, Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or other Engineering specialty
  • Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in human factors engineering support ideally in a strongly regulated environment such as medical device, military or aerospace industry
  • Experience in formulating and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative usability test data as well as expertise in observing users in simulated environments, especially for observing interactions and participants' body language
  • Demonstrated ability to brainstorming, conceptualizing and solving design problems, including features critical to function, form, ergonomics, aesthetics, and usability
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines
  • Be detail oriented with strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • excellent interviewing skills with (clinical stakeholders), strong listening and observing skills, the ability to ask appropriate questions, communicate effectively and persuasively to convey design solutions to a broad range of stakeholders

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 20%
