Stryker is seeking to hire a Staff Engineer, Advanced Operations specializing in Metrology to be responsible for the transfer of new products from research & design into manufacturing in Davie, FL at Stryker’s Robotics Innovation Center.

We are seeking a Staff Engineer who has expertise in Metrology including: Inspection Planning, Custom Gauge Design, Measurement System Analysis (MSA) & Vision Systems.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

As the Staff Engineer, Metrology, you will develop inspection strategies and associated validation activities for Robotics Projects.  More specifically you will be responsible for:

  • Select inspection strategies for critical quality attributes on components
  • Provide Design for Inspection feedback during product drawing reviews and ensure features can be inspected while considering factors of time and cost.
  • Complete Test Method Validation studies and generate subsequent Inspection documentation
  • Troubleshoot failures in TMV studies and provide appropriate solutions
  • Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures.
  • May lead/support capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, Installation and validation.
  • Lead and/or participate in process review meetings.
  • Participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP and PPAP generation associated with product transfers and launches.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP and safety procedures.
  • Review and approval of validation documentation.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. (Mechanical or Industrial preferred).
  • 5 years related work experience required, preferably in a regulated manufacturing industry. (Medical device, Aerospace, or Automotive).
  • Experience with a wide variety of inspection tools and their qualification required.
  • Experience executing Measurement System Analysis (MSA) required.
  • Experience reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and understanding geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing required.
  • Experience creating custom gages highly preferred.
  • Experience using CAD software for gage creation and fixture design highly preferred.
  • Experience with Zeiss and/or Hexagon CMMs highly preferred.

ADDITIONALLY, YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Good understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), related statistical tools and validation/verification techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to plan, organize and implement concurrent tasks.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry beneficial.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 10%
