What you will do

As a Purchasing & Planning Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with our global base of suppliers to ensure the manufacturing plant is stocked with the right quantities of products at the right time. This role will have the opportunity to use data to influence others and drive improvements in purchasing and planning processes across the plant. This position will have the responsibility of analyzing historical and forward-looking usage of components and finished goods to adjust safety stock levels for the plant. Your role may also involve working with production teams to set production schedules and align those schedules to the business’s supply plan.

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Analyze inventory levels to ensure inventory is maintained near safety stock targets
  • Work with global suppliers to procure components and finished goods
  • Develop visualizations to deliver data-driven supply chain insights to leadership
  • Create dashboards in Power BI leveraging existing SAP and Oracle ERP data
  • May be responsible for production planning and scheduling
  • Analyze demand and usage information
  • May be responsible for leading cost reduction or special project teams
  • Analyzes quotations received, and schedules delivery of products, materials, and components
  • Prepares orders and follow-up orders to expedite delivery and shipment
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing unit to maintain planned levels
  • Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operations
  • Prepares, submits and may explain periodic reports on areas of responsibility (such as detailed cost analysis, plans, and project results)
  • Ability to navigate SKU level negotiation with appropriate supplier contacts
  • Ability to articulate thoughts professionally, representing both operations and the company, and present to large groups, including senior leadership
  • Utilizes analytical skills to interpret system requirements and put together financial projections
  • Monitors supplier performance and partners cross-functionally to drive accountability and improve supplier relationships
  • Drives strategic business initiatives like Product Life Cycle Management, identifying opportunities and facilitating appropriate actions towards successful completion

What you need

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.  Degree in Engineering, Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics or similar is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical role, including relevant internship/co-op experience, required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to partner and influence various levels and business functions within the organization
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, advanced MS Excel skills and understanding of data structures highly preferred, Power BI/Tableau experience preferred, and ERP knowledge/experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow effectively in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
  • Strong sense of team work and customer service orientation
