Job Overview

Under the direction of the director, the incumbent develops and implements sales, marketing, and education programs focused on the Trauma product portfolio. This individual will take ownership of the Trauma portfolio with an emphasis on driving sales force education, engagement, and focus on Trauma products.  They will closely with sales and marketing leadership to identify programs and initiatives to support aggressive sales growth.  The role is expected to be field-based to raise portfolio profile locally and provide technical expertise for high-level relationship building with Trauma specialists. This individual must serve as a contributing member of the Marketing team while championing Stryker’s Mission and Values.

Responsibilities

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Proactively collaborates with internal teams/departments to promote a culture of inclusiveness and cooperation

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic/business plans for assigned products in conjunction with national Trauma and Extremities strategic plans.
  • Execute strategic initiatives that have been developed in collaboration with the Orthopaedics sales leadership teams including new product launches, marketing promotions, medical education programs or other initiatives
  • Work with sales leadership to build sales force capacity and expertise for priority trauma products
  • Work with Sales leadership and local reps to evaluate local trends in assigned segments to determine segment penetration opportunities and strategies for accelerated growth
  • Develop and deliver strategic education programs for surgeons, as well as Stryker orthopaedic sales representatives.
  • Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s) in Trauma and manage relationships from a consulting perspective.
  • Manage all Trauma field marketing efforts
  • Continually evaluate marketing plans and programs to ensure focus and direction are delivering results in line with Sales growth commitments
  • Provide Market insight to internal stakeholders, global marketing contacts senior leadership to increase operational efficiencies and enhanced understanding of the Canadian Trauma marketplace
  • Provide support and pricing approvals to the sales managers for RFPs including recommendations for price points, product selections for tenders and set configuration
  • Serve as lead product marketing professional within designated area
  • Represent business unit at National and regional meetings with customers
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles and methods to develop and deliver strategies and tactics to medical device sales representatives to attain sales growth targets
  • Strong comfort level in a clinical setting (operating rooms, hospitals, etc.)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to consistently produce accurate, professional work
  • Ability to travel (up to 70% of the time)
  • Self-starter with the ability to show significant initiative in problem resolution
  • High energy level with strong people skills and a positive attitude
  • Good rapport with internal stakeholders and external sales force
  • Ability to thrive in a high intensity environment

Education & Qualifications

  • University Degree required (Sciences/Kinesiology and/or Business or Marketing)
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing and/or sales of medical devices preferred Medical background or experience an asset
  • Previous product management experience a plus – particularly in Trauma-related portfolio
  • Bilingualism (French/English) an asset
  • Internal applicants with an equivalent combination of education, experience and performance over time at Stryker will be considered
