Works closely with business and functional units within designated Stryker divisions and/or countries on a broad range of matters including legal and compliance issues consistent with laws, regulations, and Stryker policies.  This role will interact with all levels of Stryker’s European business teams, the European HR team, and the European Legal team to provide timely and valuable legal advice on a wide range of matters related to employment policies, practices and disputes.

  • Serve as strategic business partner to Human Resources and business leaders across Stryker’s divisions and/or countries regarding time-sensitive and complex labor and employment issues.
  • Experience with labor and employment laws in the Netherlands, Ireland, and/or the U.K. preferred.
  • Experience with works councils and local trade unions preferred.
  • Conduct and advise on sensitive internal investigations regarding suspected violations of Stryker policy.
  • Review and develop HR policies and procedures that take into account the diverse European legal landscape.
  • Develop and conduct corporate trainings regarding labor and employment practices, and developments in European employment laws.
  • Collaborate with Stryker litigation counsel on employment litigation matters.
  • Participate in merger and acquisition due diligence and business integration activities. 
  • Independently draft, edit and negotiate basic contracts.
  • Provide timely advice and counsel to clients including in-country counsel and business stakeholders in a global environment.
  • Provide accurate information and research to a supervisor regarding laws and regulations.
  • Follow and educate others on internal processes.
  • Collaborate and communicate with colleagues, management, and outside counsel.
  • Assist on other matters as needed.
