The Contracts Administrator – to be based in Mahwah, NJ – will work under the supervision of Division Counsel for Stryker’s Joint Replacement Division and with business and functional units to handle a broad range of transactional matters from inception to completion. This professional will primarily support Stryker’s Joint Replacement Division including the Performance Solutions business. Responsibilities will further include:

  • Drafting, editing and negotiating contracts and handling various transactional matters through to completion related to commercial contracting matters (including, sales, business associate, nondisclosure, vendor, contractor and consulting agreements);
  • Making decisions of minimal to moderate impact within area of influence/responsibility, exercising independent judgment in consultation with manager;
  • Acting as primary contact between the Legal Department and functions supporting the Performance Solutions business, ensuring all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly;
  • Implementing and enforcing core contract management processes for request, execution, and filing of agreements;
  • Monitoring and tracking the status of legal matters and managing contract compliance;
  • Developing strong relationships to foster an advisory and collaborative approach with others; and
  • Assisting on other matters as assigned by the Division Counsel.

Requirements and Experience:

  • 5-7 years’ experience (without bachelor’s degree) or 2-4 years’ experience (with bachelor’s degree).  
  • Paralegal or professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences experience a plus.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates developing ability to anticipate impact and take initiative beyond direct responsibilities. 
  • Must have excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Must have discretion and maintain confidentiality.
