Key responsibilities include:

• Member of Medical - Sage business leadership team with responsibility for ensuring this role is viewed as a trusted IS partner

• Build strong collaborative and consultative relationships with business leadership and teams

• Manage the IS budget and guide the business excellence councils in effectively investing in Information Technology to meet strategic objectives

• Lead and guide the business on aligning business strategy with IS strategy.

• Provide knowledge and expertise to Medical department heads and process owners in identifying opportunities for technology and prioritizing initiatives

• Prepare, define, and monitor IS projects to address business needs

• Manage alignment of project deliverables with business requirements throughout the project and delivery life cycle

• Accountable for leading a small team of IS Professionals, both direct and matrix, to ensure IS standards are maintained

• Work across all IS teams to ensure provided IS services are consistent with business expectations

• Escalate issues within the IS organization to solve local business concerns


• Operate as the CIO of a $500m company

• Drive IS value creation and customer satisfaction

• Build and maintain strong relationships with business leadership and act as a liaison between the global IS organization and the Medical business.

• Work with IS teams to ensure services are delivered in a cost-effective manner and to high standards.

• Learn and understand business requirements, issues and processes

• Participate in the development of business and IS strategic plans

• Lead collaborative efforts for business case development

• Positively challenge and question business partners on needs and benefits

  • Charter and prioritize program and project initiatives in conjunction with business leadership and overall Medical Council structure

• Ownership of business focused IS metrics to ensure transparency of IS Services

  • Identify opportunities where conflicts/synergies/redundancies exist between business capabilities and systems to improve IS effectiveness

• Partner with IS teams to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, standards, procedures, and associated documentation including computer systems validation, Global Change Control, SOX, and PMO standards

• Contribute to the budgeting process by leading and recommending investments for division projects

• Form strong partnerships with other IS stakeholders in project management, architecture and governance to ensure alignment and smooth project integration with the rest of the IS environment

• Work closely with business analysts, project managers, manufacturing architects and other IS resources in providing IS services and initiatives to the business

• Communicate on projects by ensuring regular status updates and managing communication within team, IS organization and business leadership and stakeholders


• Bachelor’s degree required

• Bachelor’s in Business Administration or Computer Information Systems preferred

• Minimum 13 years of professional work experience in IT/IS and/or business discipline, including people leadership experience

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 10%
