  • Provide technical support to the Field Service team members as needed.
  • Provide initial and advanced training to Field Service personnel as required.
  • Maintain Service Manual and associated technical support documentation after product launch

Partners with R&D and Advanced Operations on all new products to develop Service Plan and ensure service launch material and kits are defined and implemented during the launch of products to include, but not limited to:

  • Serviceability reviews
  • Partnership with appropriate groups to define fixture requirements globally
  • Prepare and define service manuals and associated technical service documentation
  • Ensure Preventative Maintenance is clearly defined and feasible to accomplish
  • Ensure service launch kits are available upon launch of the product
  • Define standard diagnostic and failure codes
  • Define and document repair procedures and requirements
  • Define and document field diagnostic equipment and processes
  • Ensure spare parts are defined and ready in conjunction with Advanced Operations
  • Analyze, determine, and advocate for service model that best meets the needs of our customers and business
  • Generate service validation plans
  • Perform equipment installation and qualification
  • Create service-specific PFMEAs
  • Plans and conducts engineering research, design, development and/or service engineering projects as assigned.
  • Will monitor and control progress of projects to ensure sound application of engineering principles are used and design intent is being followed/achieved
  • Coordinates with other units, vendors and senior leadership as needed to ensure specific cost, time and/or regulatory standards are met
  • Will submit documented reports on assigned topics to appropriate personnel
  • Training for functionally related topics.
  • Will evaluate the results of projects and provide manufacturing guidance/assistance as needed
  • Partners with appropriate other engineering disciplines like R&D, RA, QA, AO, Operations, Advanced Sourcing, Clinical Application Support, and International teams to gather inputs and develop and refine the Service processes.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Light work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, etc. Generally involves sitting most of the time
  • Must have the ability to work with and assemble small objects and component parts
  • Ability to operate common office equipment (e.g. calculator, PC, telephone, etc.)
  • Must have good visual acuity and demonstrate fine motor skills
  • Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, product appearance, etc.)
  • Must be able to generate and explain detailed schedules, performance and design objectives
  • Must be able to complete detailed documentation accurately
  • Must be able to analyze and correct complex product and/or process issues of a broad scope using independent judgment
