We are seeking a Senior Auditor to join our Mahwah, New Jersey Internal Audit team who is passionate about furthering their audit skills and building relationships across our global company. In this role, we need someone who is self-motivated and brings innovative ideas to drive improvements in departmental efficiency or audit effectiveness while executing the audit plan.

What you will do:

As a Senior Auditor, your audit experience will be called upon daily, as you support all phases of audit engagements and consulting projects. You will work alongside members of our global team under the direction of a Manager to scope and plan audits, travel to locations to execute the fieldwork, and report audit findings both internally to the department and externally to stakeholders. Your role as a Senior Auditor also includes coaching staff and seniors, driving departmental improvements, being a trusted advisor and business partner, and supporting the success of company and department initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Provide high quality and professional execution of IA engagements from beginning to end
  • Work with Manager and engagement team to drive completion of all project planning, execution, and reporting activities
  • Conduct walkthroughs and audit interviews of Company personnel and senior management, and demonstrate ability to understand complex business processes
  • Clearly communicate to auditees regarding audit approach, project status, findings and recommendations to ensure efficiency and strong business partnership
  • Ensure audit procedures are performed and documented in accordance with professional audit standards and Stryker corporate finance policies
  • Demonstrate networking skills and the ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at various and increasing levels of staff and management within the company
  • Supervise and provide appropriate direction and coaching to staff and senior team members regarding accounting matters, auditing methodology and evaluation of risks/controls

What you need:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years in accounting, audit or other relevant industry experience
  • CPA, CIA, or other relevant certification highly preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Familiarity with US-GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley Act requirements, COSO framework of internal controls and the IIA Professional Auditing Standards

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 30%
