WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Sr. Director of Finance is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the division in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by Stryker Corporation, the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the Reprocessing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the division’s fiscal function and performance.
  • Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner with divisional understanding.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the President and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the division.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Group as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the division; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers.
  • Responsible for partnering with the Division President on the oversight and preparation of the Division strategic plan.
  • Develops vision for improving financial performance through business development and/or cost reduction opportunities.
  • Communicates financial performance to corporate management and division management to align and allocate resources appropriately.
  • Initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
  • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism.
  • Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the division may enter.
  • Provide financial analysis, and functional oversight during due diligence, on business development projects (ie. mergers/acquisitions/divestitures) designed to strengthen our product or service offering.
  • Evaluation of the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.
  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
  • Accountabilities and Measures: Operating Expense budget, Headcount, Divisional Sales, Divisional Operating Income, Divisional Cash Flow
  • Direct responsibility for the recruitment, engagement and development of the full finance department

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • An experienced leader and financial executive with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the medical field.
  • A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  • An excellent negotiator who is experienced in contracts.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to the management, division and/or group.
  • University Degree - Business
  • Ten years related experience
  • Professional Accounting Designation preferred
