The Sales Operations and Incentive Compensation Analyst is responsible for: (1) supporting the administration and analysis of the sales incentive compensation programs including calculation, reporting, and documentation administration; (2) general month end accounting and internal control monitoring; (3) Performance to Quota tracking; and (4) preparation of key metrics and analysis on sales reps, territory and regional performance to support informed decision making by Division and Canada leadership.  This individual must serve as a contributing member of the Finance team while championing Stryker’s Mission and Values.

Responsibilities

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Proactively collaborates with internal teams/departments to promote a culture of inclusiveness and cooperation.
  • Work with the business to establish a clear understanding of products, sales channels, key accounts, marketing and selling strategies.
  • Consistently meets service delivery expectations based on input from the business.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Provides supports to Sales Compensation team, accurately calculating incentive compensation payments and accruals.
  • Performs regular analysis and audit of information to ensure accuracy and data integrity with outside third-party provider, FORMA.
  • Manages Danube sales alignment tool to ensure customer, sales rep, sub-territory and territory configuration in Danube is aligned with FORMA.
  • Maintains and communicates the compensation calendar of events to ensure timelines are consistently met.
  • Prepare journal entries for monthly commissions and sales rep bonuses.
  • Responsible for FORMA ticket management system, dealing with HR, Sales Rep, RSM, BUD, Customer Service, Sales and Marketing teams on validating tickets related to:
    • Customer Alignment
    • Payment Issues
    • Payout Adjustments
    • Reporting Issues
    • New Employee set-up
  • Set-up and maintenance of quotas, change processing and PTQ report troubleshooting for all Divisions.
  • Validate monthly PTQ and FORMA dashboards display accurate PTQ calculations. Troubleshoot discrepancies working with BU and Forma to resolve.
  • Gather annual award measurement criteria from BU. Work with Forma to ensure proper measurement of metrics for awards is setup and produced for BU review and approval prior to deadline.
  • Assist in the modeling and roll-out of the annual sales compensation plans for each Division.
  • Able to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages and reports.
  • Identify opportunities to use proprietary datasets and external company data to extract valuable insights and present these findings to key stakeholders, along with useable data to execute.
  • Seek out areas of operational improvement and recommend and own the development of more efficient and automated portfolio management and support.
  • Works with Financial Compliance team to maintain annual Sarbanes Oxley program and audit of internal controls.
  • Responsible for ad-hoc analysis and information requests from business unit leaders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (designing, building and maintaining files) and analytical mindset.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, procedures and their applications.
  • Knowledge of compensation planning and processes including modelling compensation programs.
  • Capable of analyzing and resolving complex accounting issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to handles multiple priorities and manage projects to timely conclusion.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of management and maintaining relationships with divisional personnel.
  • Strong initiative, ownership, and attention to detail.
  • Possess the ability to think ‘outside the box’ in relation to process improvement and data integrity.  

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree required, Business, Finance or Human Resources preferred.
  • Interested in completing a professional designation such as Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP)
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in sales compensation plan design and commission analysis or sales operations is required
  • Internal applicants with an equivalent combination of education, experience and performance over time at Stryker will be considered
