Manufacturing Engineer - 23 month contract

Role summary: Develops, implements and maintains methods, operations, sequences and processes to manufacture parts, and assemble sub-assemblies and finished devices.

This person will be involved in production support, new product introduction, process improvement and validation for a number of product lines across a wide range of CNC controlled and manual production equipment.

In addition to production support, the position will be responsible for providing technical support for purchasing and planning operations.

Furthermore working with the Process Engineer, the position will involve implementation of process improvements relating to product quality, product cost, process yields, cycle time reduction and manufacturing line efficiencies for current and new processes.

Finally the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the leadership of product line extension projects within their manufacturing areas.

Main Duties will include:

  • Will assist subcontractors in resolving manufacturing and quality issues.
    • Audits,
    • Problem solving
    • Process validation
    • Technical specifications
  • Will assist process teams in resolving manufacturing and quality issues, Audits, Problem solving, Scrap and rework analysis and problem solving, Development and implementation structured training programmes.
  • Will develop and maintain products and processes.
  • Equipment procurement/validation
  • Process Validation and documentation
  • Compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Line Extension of existing products.
  • Will assist customers in resolving product issues., Assisting in New Product Development
  • Will assist customer service and team development.
  • Achieving team goals and supporting metrics

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Production, Electrical, or Industrial).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tool, inspection equipment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical problem solving skills.
  • 6 – 12 Months related work experience  desirable
