The Job's Mission

Imorphics is a Stryker company providing leading-edge 3D computer vision in medical technology applications from robotic surgery planning to pharmaceutical clinical trials.  We are looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual capable of using computational technology on technically demanding anatomical modelling projects and having the flexibility and communication skills to operate effectively within a high calibre team.

The role requires the candidate to be capable of using, assessing and ultimately helping develop advanced systems in computational medical imaging. Our anatomical models are statistical descriptions of the variation in anatomy across populations and are used to extract patient specific information for surgical planning and other applications. You do not need to be a mathematical modelling expert - training will be given on using the underlying technology, tools and anatomical aspects of the role as appropriate – but you will have a scientific and technical mindset, an ability to conceptualise complex patterns in 3D, and be comfortable with scientific computer systems.

Key Activities & Accountabilities

  • Using existing technology and established processes to build and use anatomical models
  • Support development of processes and technology to build and use new anatomical models
  • Proactively solve problems and conduct root cause analysis on our techniques.
  • Support the evaluation and validation of our techniques on large medical image datasets.
  • Support anatomical model development by experimental design and statistical analysis
  • Data management and archiving

Education

  • Degree - life sciences, pharmaceutical, software, IT, science or maths desirable.

Experience and Competencies

  • Experience in some of the following is highly desirable
    • Research and/or statistical analysis in a scientific field
    • Human anatomy and medical technology
    • 3D medical Imaging.
    • Use of complex software applications
    • Programming or scripting (e.g. Python)
    • Advanced algorithms
  • Highly organised with an ability to multi task
  • Problem solving in a technically challenging area
  • Advocate for consistency and quality
