You will also have the opportunity for growth through our aggressive compensation plan with uncapped earning potential.  Stryker is the leader in lifesaving and emergency medicine technology, data solutions, and services. The company’s products include LIFEPAK® monitor/defibrillators and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), LUCAS® Chest Compression Systems, the LIFENET® System, HealthEMS ePCR, HeartSine® AEDs, and more.  In addition to these products, you also have the ability to sell Power-Pro cots, Power-Loads, & Evacuation Chairs when used in the hospital space.  Emergency Care Hospital sales representatives use a consultative approach to help customers address patient-care, clinical, and operational challenges, and recommend a tailored solution that demonstrates measurable results. Our unique, clinically-driven approach ensures that our customers will be delighted and you will achieve your personal and professional goals.  


  • Develop and execute a business plan that is designed to meet and exceed financial, market, and product portfolio goals for your respective territory.
  • Effective territory planning to ensure retention and penetration of existing accounts, cultivation of new customers, and the conversion of competitive accounts.
  • Work with customers to develop, implement and train on solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. 
  • Work cross- functionally with team members including field services reps, sales, and internal support functions.
  • Utilize CRM and other methods for planning, forecasting and business intelligence in order to support strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Participate in sales workshops, sales meetings, and/or  promotional activities as requested by Manager and/or Marketing Leadership and Medical Division.
  • Provide current customers with extensive post-sale follow up (communication and management of delivery dates, in-service training, and coordinates product repairs).
  • Actively participate in national, provincial, and local Hospital trade shows.  For local trade shows may be solely responsible for transportation, set-up, and demonstration of Hospital products.
  • Effectively manage assigned territory via planning, coordination, and overnight travel.
  • Expected to contribute to the learning and development of teammates by providing best practices and lessons learned.

  • Abide by and support the policies set forth in the Stryker Code of Conduct

  • Conduct work in compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations and in accordance with Stryker’s high ethical standards
  • Report any violations of these policies and procedures to Stryker management or in the manner outlined in Stryker’s Ethics Hotline Policy

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent travel 30-40% of the time inclusive of overnight stays and weekends.
  • Ability to work out of a home office. This will include maintaining an inventory and storage of demo products and literature.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
  • A fundamental knowledge of marketing
  • Appreciation for the “solution” approach to the sales complex medical equipment
  • A strong comfort level in clinical settings (operating rooms, hospitals, etc.)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Ability to consistently produce accurate, professional work
  • Self-starter with the ability to show significant initiative in problem resolutions
  • High energy level with strong people skills and a positive attitude
  • Able to develop good rapport with internal stakeholders and external sales force
  • Strong presentation skills

Education & Qualifications

  • 3 years of successful selling experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or related discipline.   
  • Driving record in good standing.
  • All Associate Sales Account Managers must comply with the Salesforce Automation Policy in Emergency Care to personally obtain a computer that meets the minimum Stryker Medical qualifications outlined in the policy.
  • Demonstrated track record of performance and success.
  • Must possess excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to use independent judgment effectively.
  • Strong inter-personal communication skills, specifically relating to stress management, people management, and conflict management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop both internal and external long-term customer relationships.
  • Prior experience using Salesforce or other CRM system.
