Associate Manufacturing Engineer


This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision. This position requires professional mastery of a specialized field of expertise that typically requires a college degree or equivalent.   Job requires a good knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts & principles upon which the job is based. The job requires the ability to make judgements based on practice and previous experience. This job typically requires a degree in process or equivalent and no experience.

Your key responsibilities

Work within a cross-functional team on assigned projects.  Assist in evaluating each project for manufacturing and inspection methods.  Assist in Cell purchasing, entry into the Custom Implant Database, and compiling data for monthly review.

  • Work under supervision of the department lead.
  • Support the work of Project Engineers, Manufacturing Technicians, and Senior/Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Effectively communicate project status with all team members & customers on a daily basis.
  • Work with Team Members to determine project prioritization and achieve on-time project delivery.
  • Use CAD systems (UG, Pro E and Master Cam).
  • Evaluate Blue Prints, Tolerances/GD&T.
  • Use appropriate tools/resources to conduct full inspection of manufacturing parts.
  • Support Gage Calibration.

What are we looking for?

  • 1-5 years of post-degree engineering/manufacturing experience.
  • Applied knowledge of machining and CAD/CAM system.
  • Fundamental understanding of CAM programming for all     CNC machines within a manufacturing team/Cell.
  • Prefer work experience or internship in the medical device industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate work without significant supervision (self-starter) and to take a hands-on approach to both working and learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to change project priorities with short notice.
  • Fundamental understanding of operation/utilization and of inspection tools.
  • Basic understanding/utilization of Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Word and Outlook.
