What you will do

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting manufacturing operations in our Plymouth, MN manufacturing plant.  

You will work with Production, R&D, Quality, Strategic Sourcing, and other cross-functional groups to improve the manufacturing process and ensure that quality levels and industry standards are maintained or improved in the manufacturing process.

You will direct and coordinate the fabrication, installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical or electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, and systems and evaluate mechanical products to determine their cost effectiveness and efficiency

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Resolving manufacturing issues from root cause to the most apparent symptoms
  • Participate in the development and implementation of reliable methods, working across functional groups
  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and concepts
  • Develop and maintain process documentation
  • Develop best practices and implement across all products
  • Design, conduct, and develop reports for experiments to characterize and validate new or changed manufacturing processes

What you need

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant professional experience is highly preferred.  Candidates without a degree will be considered with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g.: Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Aerospace) is preferred
  • Demonstrated communication (written & verbal), partnership and influencing skills are required
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to develop and follow systematic troubleshooting procedures to address tool and equipment issues
  • Knowledge of continuous process improvement and Lean Manufacturing techniques highly preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively work in a fast paced, dynamic and results oriented team environment
