What You Will Do

Product Design

  • You will provide an estimate on project complexity, feasibility, effort and cost at the concept stage of product development.
  • You will develop and analyze multiple solutions to user problems potentially prototyping one or more options to provide proof of concept, and troubleshoot issues during prototyping and development.
  • You will drive the integration of modules to form a working product.  You will combine modules of custom designs, off the shelf components, and reference designs into a functioning product.
  • You will document all designs with the appropriate drawings utilizing internal procedures such as the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process. 
  • You will work with document control to ensure that proper revisions are released to manufacturing and that proper revision control is maintained for electronic design data (solid models, firmware source code, PCB source files, etc.).

Teamwork/Team interactions

  • You will track project progress, present periodic status updates to supervisor, project teams and/or senior staff, anticipate project problems, and work to resolve them.
  • You will mentor junior engineers to help them improve.
  • You will work with mechanical and software engineers to ensure that all modules will integrate properly,  which will include working with virtual team members in different countries.
  • You will drive the planning manufacturing of a product with the manufacturing team.
  • You will work with quality and tech support to troubleshoot problems, trend complaints, and analyze data to improve overall product quality and ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved by making product improvements before a problem escalates to a large number of users.

What You Need

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to write clear technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization. For example designs that include microprocessors, analog circuitry, power circuits, and impedance matched circuits.
  • Ability to work with software packages such as: Orcad Capture, Orcad Layout, Allegro, Xilinx Foundation, Model Sim, and uVision.
