As a Master Dater Business Subject Matter Expert you will be a vital part of the “Accelerate” Program team responsible for delivering a new complex SAP ERP solution that is not only crucial for the success of the Division but also imperative to the efficiency and profitability of Stryker as a whole! You will ensure the integrity of the solution at a local level during all program phases (Scope, Design, Process Harmonization, Final Preparation, go live and hypercare).  Plus, you will be responsible for driving critical Master Data activities during the Accelerate program and will help establish the structure and support necessary for the sustainment of data governance post the Accelerate program.

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to the creation of a new Master Data function, including developing and ensuring the proper execution of a set of processes, governance, policies, and tools for long-term success.  Effectively work with a network of stakeholders responsible for ensuring accurate and consistent data throughout global systems. Assist in the establishment of a team of key data stewards within the business to drive standards.
  • Lead planning and execution activities in the Master Data Workstream.  Create and implement effective communication and reporting at the project team and program level.
  • Develop understanding of ERP System requirements, limitations and constraints in order to effectively lead your workstream in planning and executing necessary deliverables and tasks.
  • Partner with corporate team to ensure that the business needs are met while aligning to the Accelerate overall vision & design.  Attend and actively participate in workshops with the Accelerate & business team to agree future state design & processes.
  • Be a change agent, supporting communications and change management activities arising from the program. Lead identification of Change Impacts throughout development and deployment; development of change impact mitigations in partnership with Accelerate OCM and Training team.
  • Hold self & others accountable to deliver on project tasks & meet project milestones in your Workstream.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the Workstream training strategy in partnership with the Accelerate OCM and Training team (training material to be supplied by the Accelerate team).
  • Selection and guidance of Workstream Power Users, deployment of a strategy for use development and execution of the appropriate Risk Mitigation Plans for continuing business. Support and direct data cleansing.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the go-live cutover plan and post go-live team support strategy.
  • Support configuration feedback in a timely manner, play a key role in business simulations, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as requested by the Accelerate team.
  • Contribute to the establishment of master data governance, data ownership and data quality assurance in support of Accelerate and on-going steady state sustainment.
  • Partner with key stakeholders, associated teams and technology to identify and resolve data gaps and issues to ensure project risks are mitigated
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business and technology leads, developers, architects and other stakeholders to ensure data is treated as a valued asset.
  • Manage relationships with data steward resources to ensure clear understanding of organizational requirements necessary for effective master data management and data governance.
  • Provide input to the development and maintenance of data governance, MDM processes, standards and procedures for the according to industry leading practices


  • 2+ years or more successful in large complex efforts, such as ERP implementations. SAP preferred
  • Experience with Master Data Management methodologies and data governance preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) required in a scientific, engineering or finance field preferred
  • Must be a self-starter with strong self-leadership, project/program management, and analytical skills
  • Successful track record in the development, commercialization and sustainment of products and/or IS/ERP systems
  • Ability to communicate and influence at different levels within the organization and across groups
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities and requirements with enthusiasm
  • Strong organizational, change management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated track record of handling complex or difficult situations as appropriate
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
