What you will do-

Primary Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design the connected neurosurgical OR ecosystem software platform collaboratively with R&D teams.
  • Make technical decisions as the SME of a complex connected ecosystem of medical devices leveraging technologies such as IoT, cloud technologies (Azure/AWS), data science, AI and machine learning, HL7 integration.
  • Lead R&D engineers to implement edge technologies and software into products across the portfolio to enable data driven solutions.
  • Partner with R&D teams to define and develop customer application architectures in this ecosystem using development best practices.
  • Able to work and lead within an agile global development team environment including implementing DevOps practices.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction to the development of applications and embedded software through code reviews and design reviews while maintaining compliance with regulated processes.
  • Experience working with software tools such as Configuration Management tools (Perforce/GitHub), CI/CD tools (Jenkins), Defect Tracking tools (Jira)
  • Provide input to project management on scheduling, milestone achievement, and project challenges.
  • Provide mentorship or training to engineers in software design and development best practices as necessary. 
  • Able to continually adopt technology changes and bring the appropriate solutions to maintain and advance the architecture to advance the medical device industry digital transformation.

What you need-

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • B.S. in Sofware Engineering (or equivalent) 
  • 8-10+ years related experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing software solutions with global cross functional software teams. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams to integrate complex software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan software projects, provide estimates based on design and work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver results. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Related master’s degree with 6 or more years of experience; PhD with 2 or more years of experience desirable.
  • Experience in medical device or other highly regulated industries 
  • Experience or exposure to compliance regulations around data privacy (HIPAA/HITRUST), security standards 
  • Experience or exposure to healthcare imagining technologies
  • Experience or exposure to data science

Travel Percentage: 30%
