What you will do

As a Senior Engineer, you will conduct bio-mechanical and wear related research for the Applied Biomechanics group within Advanced Technology.  You will be responsible for developing and executing clinically relevant test models to support the characterization and evaluation of next generation hip and knee clinical solutions/products. This role is hands on, where you will use equipment to simulate activities of daily living such as walking, stair-climbing, squatting, etc.  We’d like someone to have experience in cadaveric testing and evaluating the clinical performance of implants. Such evaluations could include determining the impact of knee positioning on wear, as well as determining the mechanical properties of ligaments. These are just a few things you’ll research! You will support product development in evaluating new technologies, and supporting the regulatory team in submissions of 510k’s. This role is very cross-functional as you'll work with many internal clients as well as surgeons, residents, and fellows, so you must have strong communication skills.  

What you need  

• Bachelors Degree, Master’s/PhD prefer in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering
• 2+ years of experience, within medical device preferred or lab-based setting
• Experience in bio-mechanics, gait analysis and wear testing/cadaveric testing
• Proficiency in CAD, ProE is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Enjoy working in a lab, being hands on and running lab equipment
